IDAHO FALLS, Idaho — At a young age, Samuel Beck realized he loved music.
“I started playing piano when I was a lot younger and I also wrote poetry and things,” Samuel Beck, a native of Houston and BYU-Idaho student, told KID Newsradio. “As I got older, I started turning that into song-writing and doing fun stuff like that. Now, I write a ton of original music.”
While Beck studies at Brigham Young University-Idaho, he fills his life with opportunities to perform. From a capella music with the university’s “Apollo A Capella” group to his own personal acoustic covers, music plays a significant role in his life as an adult.
“[Music] is a huge part of my life,” Samuel Beck, Houston-native and a BYU-Idaho student, told KID Newsradio.”I love it. I’m currently on the BYU-Idaho campus so I do a lot of the gigs around there.”
Beck diverted from his original music during his performance for KID Newsradio on Friday, March 30 and chose to perform a mash-up of two pop songs by artists Rihanna and Ed Sheeran.
“Both two popular songs that talk about just love and the relationship and I think it’s just kind of a cool mash-up,” Beck said.
