President Thomas S. Monson’s funeral set for Jan. 12

SALT LAKE CITY — Funeral services for President Thomas S. Monson, the leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will be held on Friday, January 12.

Church officials say the services will be held in the Conference Center on Temple Square located in Salt Lake City at 12:00 p.m. MST.

The funeral services will be broadcast live via:

President Monson passed away on January 2, 2018, in Salt Lake City at the age of 90. Church officials say he was surrounded by family when he died.  He was the 16th president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as its president for almost ten years, according to Mormon Newsroom.

Expressions of sympathy can be posted on the President Monson Facebook page or emailed to condolences@ldschurch.org, according to Mormon Newsroom. In lieu of flowers, church officials say contributions can be made to the Humanitarian Aid Fund or the Church’s General Missionary Fund at give.lds.org/monson.
