IDAHO FALLS — Melaleuca, Inc. is organizing a community food drive, with the aim of filling a semi-truck that will depart Thursday evening for the hurricane-ravaged region on the Texas coast. Melaleuca officials tell KID NewsRadio that the following items — that do not expire before December 1st, 2017 — are needed:

— Canned Fruit

— Granola bars
— Snack bars
— Crackers
— Chips
— Paper plates
— Paper towels
— Plastic cups
— Juice boxes
— Juice bottles

Since most shelters are not capable of cooking or refrigerating food, the donations must be ready-to-eat. Other donations will not be accepted. Additionally, bottled water, toiletries, and clothing is not needed at this time.

Items on the above list will be accepted at the Melaleuca distribution center near the company’s headquarters just south of Idaho Falls at 4777 West 65th South — from 8am to 6pm on Thursday.
