Idaho Falls shooting suspect in custody

IDAHO FALLS — A domestic dispute in Idaho Falls led to multiple reverse 911 calls and a tense situation for several neighborhood blocks, just west of Hitt Rd and north of 1st Street Thursday night. According to police, a man violated a no-contact order at a home on the 500 block of Tyson St, entered the home and fired a shot into the ceiling during a dispute. After lacerating his hand on a broken window, the suspect left the home. Residents were notified to lock their doors and windows for safety. For a few tense moments police searched the neighborhood and blocked access to both ends of Tyson, considering the man armed and dangerous. However, it was later learned the suspect had left the gun inside the home, according to police. The suspect sought treatment at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center and was apprehended there by officers. The suspect’s name has not been released.
