IDAHO FALLS, Idaho — The Idaho Falls Fire Department is conducting live brush burns through the end of April.

Kerry Hammon, Public Information Officer for the Idaho Falls Fire Department, said the burns are to help the department practice combating fires in preparation for wild land fire season and to also train new recruits.

The burns are scheduled for the following days:

• Wednesday, April 18

• Friday, April 20

• Saturday, April 21

Hammon said the burns will begin around 11:00 A.M. each day and last for five hours. The public should not be concerned if they see smoke and fire crews in the area of Schwieder Lane, just south of E. Sunnyside Road in the foothills on those days.
