A groundbreaking ceremony was held Thursday for a new $100 million FBI data center in Pocatello that will employ up to 350 people when it’s completed in a couple years
According to the Idaho State Journal, the data center will offer a variety of jobs and that some workers will need a college education, but some won’t.
The existing FBI center at 3975 Poleline Road is benefiting from a consolidation of around 100 data facilities into just two locations — Pocatello and West Virginia, he said.
The Pocatello location, which the FBI procured in the early 1980s at an affordable price, houses nine different divisions and that number may rise. This FBI location also handles all travel arrangements for the entire FBI.
