Data Collection Reduced on School Children

BOISE – Superintendent of Public Instruction, Sherri Ybarra, has announced fewer data points will be collected on Idaho school children. Ybarra says the changes will reduce the burden on districts which have been collecting 566 data points on each child. Starting in 2016, 115 data elements have been removed from the collection process because they were collected through other sources. Another 111 have been removed because they are considered by the state to be ,“unnecessary, redundant, or derivable from other sources.”
