Health Authorities Investigating Chipotle Salmonella Outbreak in Minnesota

Area 52 Advertising Inc/Contributor/Getty Images(MINNEAPOLIS) — A popular food chain is dealing with a salmonella outbreak that has left dozens ill in the Minneapolis area.

Chipotle restaurants have been identified as the likely source of a salmonella outbreak that has sickened at least 45 people in the Twin Cities.

But before you swear off your burrito bowl, the Minnesota health department says they believe the outbreak has been contained and eating at the chain is now safe again.

These cases are unrelated to another salmonella outbreak that has killed two people from tainted cucumbers.

Johnny Depp Opens Up About His Australian Dog Drama

ABC/Randy Holmes(NEW YORK) — On Thursday night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! Kimmel welcomed Johnny Depp, and debriefed him about the recent, very public flap with Australia’s Minister of Agriculture over the “smuggling” of the actor’s two teacup Yorkshire terriers into the country.

The politician, Barnaby Joyce, publicly scolded Depp and his wife Amber Heard for breaking the country’s quarantine laws by allegedly failing to declare their Yorkshire Terriers, Boo and Pistol, at customs when they arrived by private jet.

At the time, Joyce demanded that the dogs leave the country or risk being euthanized. He told the Australian TV show The Project that Depp has to “abide by the laws of the nation,” and that being named People‘s “Sexiest Man Alive twice” didn’t allow him any extra dispensation.

“What kind of a maniac is this?” Kimmel asked, after playing a clip from the minister. “Maybe he’s just doing his job,” Depp demurred.

“No, that is one of the craziest things I think I’ve heard,” Jimmy insisted.

The actor countered, “This sort of weird, sweaty…gut man…decided that…two five, six-inch teacup Yorkshire terriers would harm the country in some way,” before adding sarcastically, “He has a point. Especially when you consider Australia has the most poisonous creatures on earth.”

Depp got more serious when Kimmel mentioned that Joyce threatened to throw Heard in jail over the fiasco. “If they did that, I’d just fly to Australia to assault that man, so that I could go to jail [instead].”

“Yeah right!” Kimmel responded. “Jack Sparrow’s not gonna stand by and let this happen.”

Depp can be seen in theaters next playing gangster Whitey Bulger in Black Mass.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales doesn’t arrive until July 7, 2017.

New England Patriots’ Latest Issue: Headsetgate

Jared Wickerham/Getty Images(FOXBOROUGH, Mass.) — Just when the New England Patriots thought they could put controversy behind them, Thursday night’s NFL season-opener brought a new scandal to the forefront — and it involved headsets.

A judge may have vacated quarterback Tom Brady’s four-game suspension following deflategate and the team may have moved past that incident of spying on opposing teams, but the latest gripe with the team is the alleged interference that the Pittsburgh Steelers’ coach “always” has with his headsets against the Pats.

“We were listening to the Patriots’ radio broadcast for the majority of the first half on our headsets,” Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said during the post-game press conference, referring to “coach-to-coach” communication.

After losing to the Patriots, 21-28, Tomlin was short on words. Asked to comment further about the headset issue, Tomlin told reporters, “That’s always the case.”

To resolve the issue, Tomlin added, “We let the league officials on site handle it.”

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told ABC News: “Technological and stadium infrastructure issues of this type happen at many stadiums around the league and whenever there are issues of this nature, we do a thorough review.”

Tomlin declined to comment further about whether he has experienced similar headset issues at other NFL stadiums.

The Patriots and Steelers did not respond to requests for comment Friday from ABC News.

Inside the ‘Abysmal’ Refugee Detention Camps in Hungary

iStock/Thinkstock(BUDAPEST, Hungary) — People kept in wire enclosures, chaotic crowds clamoring for food and guards interacting with the refugees and migrants while wearing surgical masks all contribute to the controversial conditions in Hungarian holding facilities.

American advocacy group Human Rights Watch has released footage from inside the Roszke detention centers near the Serbian border and described the situation as “abysmal.”

“The detainees at Roszke are held in filthy, overcrowded conditions, hungry, and lacking medical care,” Human Rights Watch emergencies director Peter Bouckaert said in a statement.

The group is calling for Hungarian authorities to improve access to food, water, shelter and medical care in the camps.

Representatives from Human Rights Watch visited the two hangars at the detention centers and described overcrowded conditions, insufficient bedding and space.

They interviewed some of the detainees who said they were not provided with interpreters and had “little or no information about the legal rules and safeguards governing their detention,” according to the Human Rights Watch statement.

The new footage from inside the camps comes a day after an Austrian politician’s wife released video showing Hungarian police officers throwing food at a crowd of refugees earlier in the week at the same detention camp, adding to the chaos of the situation.

“Mad Max” Most Pirated Film of the Summer

Warner Bros.(LOS ANGELES) — It’s been a banner summer for digital pirates, with Mad Max: Fury Road, leading all other blockbusters as the most pirated film, according to Variety.

Between June 21 and September 9, the five most pirated films were downloaded on torrent networks worldwide more than 85 million times, according to piracy-tracking firm Excipio. That’s a 29 percent increase over last year, when Captain America: The Winter Soldier topped the list.

Rounding out the five most-pirated films worldwide this summer are Jurassic World, Avengers: Age of Ultron,Insurgent and Terminator: Genisys, which had a poor showing here in the United States, but has done well overseas.

Here in the States, Mad Max: Fury Road was followed by Jurassic World, Insurgent, Ted 2 and Avengers: Age of Ultron.

One possible reason for the piracy uptick, according to Variety, was the number of popular movies that came out over the summer. It’s hard to say how much piracy hurt movie box office, though — Rentrak reports box office revenue this summer was the second-best on record.

FBI Warns of ISIS-Inspired Cyber Attacks on 9/11 Anniversary

MARWAN IBRAHIM/AFP/Getty Images(WASHINGTON) — The FBI is warning that an ISIS-inspired group of hackers is threatening to mark Friday’s anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks with a new cyber-assault against U.S. government-related websites.

Twitter users claiming to be associated with the group, branding themselves with the “hashtag” moniker #AmericaUnderHacks, have already been posting online what they say is sensitive information about U.S. government personnel. But the information is available through basic Internet searches and is “recycled” from several years ago, sources told ABC News.

Nevertheless, the FBI wants companies doing business with the U.S. government to be able to defend their networks should hackers try to “commemorate the anniversary of the terrorist attacks” with more serious action, according to a “private industry notification” issued Thursday citing the recent threats.

“Will penetrate … governmental sites in September 11 to commemorate the destroyed skyscrapers,” threatened one recent tweet from the ISIS-inspired group of hackers, who call themselves the “Islamic Cyber Army.”

It’s unclear how credible such threats are, and in its notice Thursday, the FBI characterized the threats only as “possible.”

But in its notice, the FBI says the group (ICA) has successfully “hacked and defaced” certain governmental websites, and similar campaigns by “extremist cyber actors” have targeted networks associated with the U.S. government and banking industry.

“ICA would most likely seek to attack targets of opportunity based on technical vulnerabilities and a perceived connection to the United States or other Western countries,” the FBI says in its notice to private companies. “Web site defacements and/or any possible unauthorized releases … of personally identifiable information (PII) by ICA likely would be accompanied by messages expressing support for ISIL, and possibly language threatening additional cyber or physical terrorist attacks.”

The notice also predicts ICA “is likely to make claims of responsibility” for any successful hacking activity online by other groups.

The FBI describes ICA as an “ISI[S]-sympathetic hacking group,” comprised of members of like-minded hackers from the “Elite Islamic State Hackers” and others.

In its notice Thursday, the FBI suggests several “precautionary measures” companies can take “to mitigate a range of potential hacktivism threats by this group.”
