A 57-year-old Idaho Falls man succumbed to injuries Thursday morning that were sustained in a Sept. 23 auto accident on U.S. Highway 20.
The Post Register reports Kevin Tonks was a passenger in a a 1999 Isuzu pickup that was being driven by Amy L. Tonks, age 39, of Idaho Falls. Amy Tonks was driving east on U.S. 20 at approximately 1:42 p.m. when a tire blew, an Idaho State Police news release said. She lost control of the vehicle, went through the median and the vehicle rolled, coming to rest on its top, blocking both the westbound lanes, the release said.
Both vehicle occupants were transported by ground ambulance to the Eastern Idaho Medical Center.
Both westbound lanes of U.S. 20 were blocked for approximately 90 minutes. The left lane remained blocked for an additional 90 minutes, the release said
