Scouts Discuss Allowing Homosexual Leaders

(IDAHO FALLS) – With the Boy Scouts of America set to discuss ending its national policy prohibiting homosexuals from being Scout leaders or participating as Scouts, many are wondering what that means for local Scouts. In southeastern Idaho, 90 percent of Boy Scout charters are run by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. According to the Post Register, local Scout executives don’t expect the decision will have much impact on local membership. The LDS Church has said it is aware the change is being considered but will not issue a comment until a decision is made.
