IEA Members to Discuss ‘Students Come First’

(IDAHO FALLS) – The number of Idaho teachers leaving the classroom is on the rise. The number has doubled since 2010. Local teachers and the Idaho Education Association blame last year’s Students Come First legislation but education officials say turnover is not new. Clair E. Gale Junior High teacher Mitzi Ellingson tells Local News 8 the environment for teachers is tough. Next week, IEA members and school administrators statewide will meet to discuss the implementation of Students Come First.
