(IDAHO FALLS) – A new bill being considered in the Legislature would give school crossing guards the power to cite drivers. Guy Bliesner with Bonneville School District 93 tells Local News 8 there have been 37 near misses so far this school year. But local law enforcement officials say it would be difficult for crossing guards to waive down a speeding motorist and collect information at the same time they are getting children across the street safely.
