(IDAHO FALLS) – The first nationwide test of the emergency alert system was a flop in Eastern Idaho. The alert was scheduled to go out over all radio and television outlets at noon yesterday. But our mountains may have been in the way. The Idaho State Emergency Communications Chairman tells Local News 8 our area’s signal was being sent from Utah and Boise. Fixes are being worked on for future alerts.
