Police Receive Fake 911 Calls From Old Cell Phones

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — Authorities say children using their parents’ old cellphones are causing problems for emergency responders. Lt. Paul Manning of the Pocatello Police tells the Idaho State Journal that people don’t realize deactivated cellphones can still call 911. Other agencies who say they have similar problems include the Bannock County Sheriff’s office, the Chubbuck City Police Department, and the Franklin County Sheriff’s office.
